Rage volleyball coaching staff
Miranda Baptista
Assistant Coach
I began playing club volleyball at 7 years old, which accumulates to a total of 14 years with the sport. I am going into my first year as an Assistant Coach and I’ve been serving as a Junior Coach during Rage Volleyball’s summer program since 2021. Prior to that, I spent a total of 7 years as a setter at Rage.
I am a recent alumnus of University of the Pacific where I played volleyball and received a B.S. in Psychology. I am a current graduate student studying to become a Marriage and Family Therapist through Pepperdine University. Alongside being an LMFT, I hope to one day become a Certified Mental Performance Consultant. I have a deep rooted passion for sports and mental health, and am grateful to be able to enter this career path. In my free time, I love spending time with loved ones, reading, and watching movies.
My approach to coaching focuses on developing and defining technical skills and applying strategy to game situations. I also believe it is important to key on aspects of the game outside of playing that will help athletes prepare for the next level, whatever their next level may be. I highly value and prioritize a collaborative approach to coaching, as I believe this helps develop a player’s volleyball I.Q., which promotes confidence and a growth mindset, which are also highly valued when aiming to improve your game.
