Jerry Bowen

Hello,

My name is Jerry Bowen and I am a converted basketball player. I played basketball growing up and converted to volleyball right after graduating high school. Once I saw that you can’t be a ball hog in volleyball, I was hooked. I have a passion for this sport that burns as hot today as it did over 30 years ago. I’ve been married to my wonderful wife for 25 years. We have 3 adult children ages 24, 22 and 21. Our 22 year old daughter still plays volleyball today while teaching English in South Korea. I enjoy coaching all aspects of the sport. However, I am strongest helping outside / opposite hitters and love coaching defense.

Career Highlights:

My career has been varied and fun. I won the NCVA grass doubles level “A” championship, the Cal State Open Walleyball title, 3rd place 2002 USA Volleyball nationals AA grass reverse co-ed championships. I also played Men’s NCVA AA / open divisions and co-ed national’s at the A / AA level in Las Vegas several times. I’ve coached several years of high school and was the Modesto Junior College outside hitter and defensive specialist coach back in the late 1990’s to the early 2000’s. Ive been at Rage for almost a year coaching boys 14’s, girls 14’s and recently the boys 15 summer league.
